Tier 1 (General) can one continue to work after receiving an acknowledgement letter if previous visa is expire?

Question by SALMAN T: Tier 1 (General) can one continue to work after receiving an acknowledgement letter if previous visa is expire?
I applied for Tier 1 general about 2 weeks ago. Currently, i’m on PSW which is going to expire on 4th april, 2011. I received an acknowledgement letter from Home office. Am i allowed to continue to work even after my visa expires if i don’t hear back from home office by then given that i’ve got an acknowledgement letter from them?

Yes you can continue to work. As long as you applied within your current visa’s validity – which you did – you are legal and entitled to work. The conditions of your PSW visa apply until you hear otherwise.
