hello puneet

like you say, visa-wise the England is a good bet for you. as for jobs – i work in IT and, despite the financial crisis, the job market doesn’t seem too bad. as i’m sure you know there are a lot of indian or anglo-indian people living here, so it might make it a better environment for you, if you care about that kind of thing. i posted a link to a job site with some of your search terms.

see you soon.

What type of Visa is needed in this situation?

Question by : What type of Visa is needed in this situation?
My live in partner, who has been working here on an HSMP Visa for the last six months (this expires in 2012) is from India. We have been together for almost a year now and have decided to get married later this year. His mother ( lives in Bareilly, on the jobs’ accommodation and has to leave there by the end of September, 2009)(a widow) has just retired from her job in India (March 2009) and we are interested in getting her to the UK as soon as possible. She has one daughter there that works in Delhi and she does not make enough to help her mother financially. My live in partner sends money home to his mother, on occasion.

I am a British passport holder. We would like to know what is the best type of visa to apply for his mother to come to UK.

We are both working and are about to move to a two bedroom rented accommodation. We do not depend on any benefits and are quite able to support his mother here in UK.

Q&A: UK visa overstay and wish to apply again?

Question by indya: UK visa overstay and wish to apply again?
I m a business man based in INDIA, came to UK in Nov’03 with family and then tried to convert visitors visa into Work Permit. Initially applied for Visa Extension but unfortunately the passports got lost without us being aware of that.

Waited for our passports to be return for 15 odd months fearing that inquiring may land us in trouble, but ultimately gathered courage and traced our passports to INDIAN HIGH COMMISSION – LONDON sent by British Home Office because the address mentioned for the return of the passports were not proper.

We collected our passports from INDIAN High Commission – London and returned back to INDIA on our own, I applied for HSMP and got approval during Nov’06 but my EC was refused stating that they cannot consider the points granted to me on the basis that I was not in INDIA for 20 odd months.

Now I have come to understand that I can be granted SOLE REPRESENTATIVE VISA but again fear that the EC will not be granted, can some one please advise on this.

Your over stay in the UK will will always be a hurdle for you unless you produce a solid and acceptable reason for that. The reason you stated is not enough to satisfy an ECO or to impress the UK immigration rules.

The only thing can work is to hire a reputable Solicitor in the UK who will find a legal way for you. There are legal ways to overcome this problem but only a competent solicitor can proceed for that. If you wish to know for some one you may please contact me on through my e mail.

i I and my wife pay tax and have relatives in uk. my visa refused. ihave two children . any solution?

Question by : i I and my wife pay tax and have relatives in uk. my visa refused. ihave two children . any solution?
I HAD WORK VISA ONE YEAR BEFORE ON THE BASIS OF pgd DIPLOMA. i USED SAME DIPLOMA AND EARNINGS TO GET hsmp VISA BUT REFUSED AND AUTHORIES SAYS IT IS FAKE. ONE YEAR BEFORE IT WAS OK AND NOW SAME DIPLOMA TURNS FAKE. COLLEGE I STUDIED PROVIDED ME THIS BUT AWARDING BODY( OTHER THAN MY COLLEGE) NOW REFUSES THIS. lIVING LEGALLY FOR MORE THAN FIVE YEARS

Best answer:

Answer by Pauper Prince
Well if issuing body is saying they didn’t issue then of course it would be considered FAKE. You need to check with the college u studied in, and sort this matter out gracefully, let ur college sort this matter with the issuing authority, also ask for the full transcript (marks sheet) of the exams you passed.

BTW, HSMP has been discontinued since 29th June 2008, how come u applied for it now?

You having relatives in England doesn’t effect ur application for work visa/Tier 1 etc.

I am still unable to understand your question properly, though, I’d like a bit more elaboration.

I need a work permit?

Question by BSB: I need a work permit?
I presently have a HSMP visa that will expire in a few months and I have read the new regulations and realised I can’t extend it, I used the points calculator on the home office website and I didn’t meet the points. I am working and my present employer doesn’t give work permit, my work isn’t special [admin] Is there anyway, any company that can give a work permit.
Any one know any company/organisation that gives work permits or any other way I can stay in the England to continue work.

P.S – I have 6 years experience in admin and HR. Only been in the U.K 2 years though.
I never realised there were so much self centred immature ignorant people on this forum. Hope you never need any form of help from anyone in your life because when you do I hope you never find it

Question by eghosa28: workpermit.com in the England is owing me 716british pounds.the hv been evasive in refunding the money to me?
this hs been on in last two months & i’m pissed.i had applied for the HSMP since 2004,but they had not file for me at the home office since like 2004 due to their own inefficiency and negligence.in the last 2mths,i hav asked for my deposit to be refunded&although they hav agreed to refund it,they hv been characteristically slow and evasive.i hv wasted money in following this up and hv sebt several mails.and in so emotionally tired.what do i do?i’m based here in the US(STUDENT)

Did you text this question by phone?
You question is a little confusing but if you are just waiting for the money to be refunded then make sure your requests are in writing delievered by the post/mail not e-mail.
If they have agreed to refund then they should and will. Make sure that you keep a record of all correspondance, however if your file has been inactive since 2004 it would have been stored away – what happened in between?

could someone please provide me some concrete information on the PSW VISA application to the UK?

Question by : could someone please provide me some concrete information on the PSW VISA application to the UK?
Since last few weeks, there is a buzz around that the new government in force is scraping out PSW and Hsmp visa from 2011. Also that the student working hours is reduced from 20 hrs to only 10 hrs. but I have not been able to secure any concrete information from any source.
I’ll be thankful if you could share your piece of information on this issue….. Thanks!!

The HSMP visa was scrapped in November 2008.

It has been decided to scrap the Tier 1 Highly Skilled Worker category as too many Tier 1 applicants (over 30%) were actually working in low skilled jobs thus defeating the purpose of allowing highly educated graduates to enter the UK to seek work. This visa is already severely capped and will be abolished completely in April 2011.

The PSW visa is under review as are the conditions of the Tier 4 student visas. The sense of letting overseas graduates compete in the work market with UK and EEA graduates at a time when graduate recruitment is at an all time low is under review.

The Tier 4 student visa is being looked at as this has been open to systematic abuse. The government wants to ensure that those who come to the UK to study, come with this as their primary reason and not use the student route to work illegally in the UK.

The changes are being considered through a consultation process. You can read more details here.
